I installed a Pro Tray in my boat 4 years ago. Only one brace I ran into. It was not structual. It was used only for holding the trolling motor wiring. I used a saws-all cutter and went thru several blades. The fiberglass is tough to cut. Good luck. It really helped my back and feet.
i put one in my 98 195 about 7 or 8 years ago and don't remember a brace, hardest part was getting the nerve t o start cutting on the boat.
