    Trailer jack upgrade

Bought and installed a new trailer Jack for my Stratos 294XLE. It is a Fulton 141132 XLT 1500 lb Jack and works much better than the old one. Bought for $102 at Carid.com link: FultonŽ 141132 - Weld-On 12" Travel Steel Swing-Away Marine XLT Jack
Photos of the original and new model are attached. The new model bolted to the original welded bracket perfectly.

    Was that a simple changeout?

Yes they are a simple swap. Leave it hooked up to a tow vehicle or put a jack stand under it while you unbolt the old and bolt the new up.

Jack up the trailer tongue or place it on your vehicle. Take out one bolt, put on new Jack, replace bolt. Takes less than 10 minutes.

I've debated on doing that to my 2010 294XLE. My hitch has to be turned up to make it ride level and I have to really crank it up to get it off the ball. My driveway slopes down from my garage and I built a platform from 2x10's so that it wouldn't have so much of the jack out and possible warping it over time. Does that one have to be cranked down as far as the old one?

I had same problem with the hitch being too high. The newer model has 12" of range compared to 10" on the older model. Works much better and is more stable.

The Fulton I added to my 294 was a great upgrade. I went with the 2 wheel model though
