I am considering buying a 2001 TF296 but I am curious as to whether or not Charger was still using wood in 2001. I know that Charger is using all composite materials now in their but I am unsure about 2001. Thanks!!

05 -06 went to all composite,it will say on the side of the boat all composite lifetime warranty
I have had 3 different models and never have had a problem with wood in there boats. My 595 is all wood and still no soft spots and its a 2000![]()
Thanks for the info. The reason I am so concerned is that I had a Tidecraft once that I literally had to throw away after I found that the entire stringer system and half the floor was completely rotted. I ended taking everything off of the boat and actually giving someone the trailer if they would come and take the boat away. Since then I have been very leary of any boat with wood in its construction. This particular Charger was used about 10 times in 2001 and then put in storage. The engine only has 25 hours on it. So it is like a brand new boat.....that is nine years old.
I have a 94 495 and my fishing partner has a 98 195 and neither have had any problems. Sounds like you may have found a gem. Just check it out like any other boat![]()
i have a 91 model, no problems with the wood what so ever, anywhere.......
Heck they build houses out of wood so I guess that should tell me something. I think the key is avoiding prolonged constant exposure to water. There are alot of boats still being made of wood. Not so many bass boats, but sail boats and pleasure boats. I know the one I have is solid.
