I can't remember when my last post was so I will get you caught up from last night. Around 9pm last night my son grabbed his breathing tube and pulled it out. Things got a little hectic but they got the Bipap mask on him and were going to see how he did w/out the breathing tube. He did ok through the night and morning but became visibly irritable and his oxygen levels weren't the best. The doctors came in to do a breathing treatment and his left lung collapsed. When this happened his oxygen levels bottomed out and his heart rate dropped from 135 to 80. They were able to bag him and get a little air back in his lung to inflate it a bit after about 15 minutes. They gave him a little longer and decided to intubate him again. This was a little set back, along w/ gut wrenching to see, but it just showed that his lungs are still very sick and aren't quite ready to handle the pneumonia on his own. Being back on the ventilator will also allow him to rest, get his lung fully inflated and it will also be easier to suck out some of the junk thats deep in his lungs. He seems comfortable now for the time being. Just been a rough day but hopefully this was just another speed bump down his road to recovery. The continued prayers are overwhelming and today just shows that we still need them and he still has a lot to overcome. Please also pray for those affected from the storms tonight and earlier this week.
Thanks,
David
