I am thinking about having the passenger console removed from my 2005 198. It's not a bolt on so it will require a little work. My question is, does anyone know if removing the console will have an impact on the integrity of the hull? My fiberglass guy was worried that it may increase the possibility of stress cracks. Any help would be appreciated.
It won't impact hull integrity, but it's gonna leave some holes....
you should be able to find some grommetts to fill the holes

Grommets may not be the answer. I think some folks use small plates.

For filling the holes I used the plastic push plugs that are used for the interior panels on your car doors, they are tapered and push right into the holes on your boat, looks clean and you can buy at any autopart store in either black or white
But a ring doesn't plug a hole.
It looks like the 05 is glassed in so I'll have to get someone to tear it out and re-glass...
I have the 05 198 also. Mine is single and I was looking for 2nd one. It's not glassed in but they used some very strong adhesive, if I remember correctly.
