It seems in general:
odd numbers are narrow, rear tank
even numbers are wide, beam forward
but isn't the 202 an exception to that?
are there others exceptions?
just trying to figure out what everybody's got

I not the guru Mark but I think the early 202's were narrow and the new model is a wide beam.
What about the 183, that is beam forward. I vote no to that theory.

176 narrow, 168 narrow, 184 narrow, 204 narrow. 183 wide, 202 narrow and wide (), etc, etc.
By model number chart, do you mean just models and beams, or models and more extensive specs?
16'8, 17'6, 18'4, 201 are 86 inch beam
202, 203, 18'1, are 90 inch beam
people will add more shortly

181 90 inch beam
186 90 inch beam![]()

191 92 inch beam
202 91 inch beam
221 93 inch beam

So are there models where the same model# has it in a different location?
This is gonna need a spreadsheet.
model#, year introduced, year changed, tank location, beam

The only models I know of with tanks in both locations are older ones with auxillary tanks.
A spreadsheet would be a vast undertaking, but I have all brochures from 1985 to present (minus '89 and '92..and they didn't have one in '02), so I can answer any questions if the info is in the brochures.
08 183 -> 93" beam
Gas tank behind livewells definitely can be seen from rear hatch as that's how I check gas level.

203 is the only one I can think of that has both center and rear tanks. Rear tank 203s are faster, but sit lower in the rear on the water.
