Suggestions welcome on the purchase of a trolling motor...

It looks like my 98' Digital Tour Motorguide has bit the dust. I'm looking at replacing it with another Tour Modle Motorguide, or going with a Minn Kota Maxxum or Fortrex! The other boats I've owned had Minn Kota's on them, and I had excellent luck with them. What do you guys run, and are you happy with your brand?

    Thanks for the input.

    See ya, HatfieldHog

I'm reading lots of good things about the Fortrex. Any features on it that stand out to you?

I have an 80lb Fortrex on my boat and couldn't be happier. I like the ease of steering (very little torque), the rigidness of the mount and the soft start/stop feature. I used to be a Motorguide fan, but not sure if I could ever go back now. This Fortrex is sweet!

I bought my second MG TE82 last year. The other one had 7000 hours on it and was still going strong but I just wanted one that didn't have so much paint knocked off. Personally, I like the infinite speed adjustments for holding on deep cover.

The only reason i would not go with a fortrex is if you have a custom cover it may not fit with fortrex.
