    Just the Facts...

The 08 Champion that is being discussed has a full lifetime factory warranty on the hull and three years on everything attached to the boat as well as the trailer. The 150HO Evinrude currently qualifies for the Evinrude promotion of 5 years warranty. Covered like a brand new boat because it is a brand new boat. During the restructuring of Genmar's debt the warranty on these boats was in question, however, now it has been clarified. The value of these two warranties enhances the value of this rig now that they come under Ranger's direction. These boats are currently being produced as Stratos/Champion 183 Elites. The only difference is they have a Stratos Decal rather than a Champion Decal. The boats are all Champions thru and thru.

As stated this is a gorgeous rig and it will sell. Buying a boat is a major purchase. You should always be confident in your selection as well as the ability of your dealer to service your purchase. It is the service after the sale that counts. If you have bought a boat in the past and had a less than positive and enjoyable purchase experience, don't let history repeat itself.

I saw the new Stratos/Champion on the showroom floor at the Dallas show and it has Stratos written on the side and a Stratos trailer. Funny thing is that it had a ChampioN measuring board under the drivers console and ChampioN logo on the front of the console. Dealer mistake or what?

That is the Champion Elite series. Stratos external decals but Champion decals on the gauges, seats and internal stuff.

Is the warranty still the same?

My original AR Champion lost it's "lifetime warranty" when they went bankrupt.

My Genmar Champion "lifetime hull warranty" was with the original owner only. The original owner could sell the boat within the first five years and transfer the warranty to the second owner but they only got warranty too the ten year point NOT a lifetime warranty.

This really didn't scare me because I watched the boat getting built but it was a concern to buyers when I explained how it worked. The Champion name and the care I took in my boat carried the sale not the supposed lifetime warranty because that was out the window when I sold both of them.

Has PE now matched a lifetime transferable hull warranty no matter how many owners the boat has? I'll buy that has value down the road.

    Look at it this way.

    Stratos Boats-Champion-Elite edition = Chevy-Silverado-LTZ Edition.
