    Aluminum vs FiberGlass Camper

What would you buy and why? I'm leaning towards the fiberglass model its a Tracer 3200BHT but we like the Avenger 32 BIT aluminum model as well . The 32 BIT is 4k cheaper as well.

search google for water leak damage and delamination and see pics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=VGlnOOBdb4E
this video is just an example, do search more for problems and pics and what to look for..
delamination is glue old on fiberglass walls make bubbles. and Metal Roof is better.. We delt with a travel trailer with the rubber roof, end result sold it after 5 yrs. and just did with out. this year bought a older model TT with metal roof. 1st had a nice top end 1983 MH aluminum frame, metal roof 33' Holiday Rambler wish still had.. But wife wanted a travel trailer.. So traded it and got a new 24' TT back in 2003 rubberized roof. used it some but it sat more than used.. and rubber roof was kept up, but over time and between work no time to use it.. they deteriorate from sun and weather.. and rain seeps in and there ya go! $3500.00 for repair and replace.. #3 bought the used TT this past april with metal roof 14 yr older same brand TT.. so far just new tires and a new toilet, House Battery and serviced. So far It sits as others did, but is ready to use. AS waiting for early fall to use it. more camp spaces available , and less Boats on lakes lolo.. But just the up keep on roof is sealing seams and roof vents and A/C. Metal wall so no delamination to worry about.. Rubber roof I never walk on, but I guarantee you take and pay Dealer for maintenance they are going to walk on it.. cheap particle board used for roof and flooring. you can literally hear it crack and creak if walk on roof .

301.jpg2003 camper.jpg1989 Big Difference lolo.. Don't have pics of MH as those are on floppy disc and new PC don't have a way to play them.. But yep we went backwards on TT, but the older one with front kitchen and lengthways couch more room and livable, than the newer one with front bedroom and middle wall kitchen. and the older one with wood paneling, better quality and more homey style vs the newer wall paper el cheapo motel 6 style.. just research and look for issues.. and think of floor plans etc .. Good enuff for the lake camp/fishing/Hunting seasons.. we did look at Brand New TT this year and just could not see or justifying paying again the High Prices for cheap made cookie cutter rubberized roof campers. Besides when we decide to go off long distance trips a jet ride, rental car and motels in long run are cheaper. P.S. campsites are usually booked up on weekends way in advance for the Army Corp of Engineer lake sites, the week days wide open, the commercial ones example KOA's and Good Sams Club are not cheap on daily rates and in reality may as stay at a motel in reality lolo.. Now if join Good Sams Club get a discount on there camp sites.. And if Disabled or Old Enuff can get the USDA Golden Access Pass for Free.Good for National Parks.. then will get 1/2 price on the yearly Army Corp of Engineer lake sites pass hang on mirror , and day use includes use of Boat ramp. and 1/2 price of camping spot for the year.. Go to a flying J truck stop and get a free RV Owners Gas Discount Card.. gets you 3 cents off a gallon of gas or Diesel, and a discount on Propane.. swipe card inside of store purchases builds up points. and every pilot or flying J except the MC Donalds restaurant..( don't Honor card) but the rest do>> example SubWay, Denny's gets you a 10% discount off food. Have Fun! and Be safe!

I've had both. The aluminum is a lot harder to keep clean than fiberglass; however the one piece aluminum roof is great (rubber breaks down in the sun and cuts easily). My ideal choice would be fiberglass sides with an aluminum roof.
