I am seriously looking at a Ford F250, crew cab with 8' bed, and camper package to carry a slide-in truck camper. I don't however know anyone who owns a Ford with the 6.2 liter gas V8. They don't even have mileage rating on this engine because it is in a heavy duty truck.
Anyone on her had one? How is/was it for dependability? Gas mileage?
Any info and opinions greatly appreciated.

I dont have one but was curious if you know the payload capacity of the truck?
Personally, I think truck campers are the way to go if you like to travel and fish.

Here is the payload from the specs you sent. Depending on the size camper it looks as if you should be able to carry it.
I have been looking at new trucks as well. We have been considering making the jump from a travel trailer to a fifth wheel
