    181 Hole Shot

I went from a 24 Trophy to a 25 Tempest Plus and the hole shot is dramatically better with no over rev....a buddy of mine swears that his 25 Renegade will give me more stern lift at hole shot...any ideas? its a 150 EFI on a 181 DC...the boat runs great with the Tempest, so I don't really want to mess with it but thought I would get some feed back from some of you guys.

I run a 23p Tempest+ on my 150EFI and get zero - 30mph in less than 6-seconds loaded to fish.... 'Course a guy named Mark worked the prop for me...

I'd like to see the results of that bet. I know a lot of folks use Merc props on other brands of motor, but am not familiar with using an OMC/BRP prop on a Merc.

As far as holeshot goes, I'd be suprised to see much improvment over a 23 tempest.

If your rpms are right at WFO, get all over it.

And as far as a four blade omc running with a tempest/M/T1/RBX high rake three blade on a champ hull? I'll take that wager and gladly pay if I lose, but it will be the first time ever I saw it happen.

Same here Turn a 24p Trophy darn near the same rmps as my Tempest.

You can borrow my boat Pat, if it takes place in the Pacific Northwest, and I will pay if you lose

Renegade runs horrible on a champ. I tried a 25 once on my 202 and it was the worst prop I ever tested.

Ran a worked (DAH) 25 Renegade on a '97 186 with a 150 FastStrike. Was a rocket out of the hole and would turn 5600-5700rpm @ 65mph 2 people, and 67-68mph GPS 1 person all day every day. Sea level in the Northeast, Just Sayin, never did run a Tempest on it.

    Re: (Ed R)

Thank you Ed R. It wont cost Coosa Flipper anything to try my prop. It would be worth trying before spending money on a tempest just to be sure.

That's very true. Ed R was running the renegade on an OMC motor. Wonder if that will make a diff when it is on a Merc...
