Other than the obvious few inches of length difference, what are the differences in hull, width, etc. of the three boats.
Any other info or observations (Pat) or anyone else would like to share, please do![]()

Mountain Home ChamP 181
I'm not at home with my brochures, but I seem to remember the 184 has an 86" beam, while the 186 has 90" beam. Storage layouts might be a tad diff, too. I'll check the brochures tonight if you remind me.
speaking of this topic -
Is there a 'correct' place to measure the beam - or is it just at the widest point? I"m assuming widest and go from rub rail to rub rail?
I think I've got the same rig as WaYoop - only one less console. ;)
You can look at a lot of the specs from Champions old websites on the Internet Archive. http://web.archive.org/web/*/h...s.com
Some are there still, some arent.
Here is the 181 - http://web.archive.org/web/199...g.htm
I wasnt sure of the years of the other two models and couldnt find them.

That's correct as far as I know...
I think the 186 came out in 95 and ran thru late 90s/early 2000s. The 184 was out for many years prior...
I had a 91 - 184 & a 95 186. I liked the 184 better, not as load sensitive in the front and ran a little faster and ride is as good as any boat I have been in .

I'm on my 3rd Champion, and the 184 was the best by far. The 180 and the 203 have too much tendency to get airborne, and they just aren't as lively. I've only been in 1 186, and it was slower and more sluggish than the 184.
I've never been in any bassboat ever that handled as well. I've made turns at speed with the bow up that made grown men scream like little girls.
I sold mine because I was tired of dealing with the single narrow rod box. If I come across a good deal on a 92 or 93 model with the good deck layout, I will buy it and build another strong 200 EFI for it. You will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands..........
