    Newby alert!!!!!!

I am a long time Champion owner, 96 186 TSC, my dad is 80, he owns 89 184DC, my younger brother owns a 89 176. It makes me sad to read that PE could possibly chose to lose the finest line of boats money can buy! I have a 88 202 that I bought several years ago to restore and lately I have been thinkin bout sellin it. With what is goin on would it be better to hold on in case. I agree with the one poster that these guys are not dummies. Genmar could have done a lot worse!! Thanks for a great forum and see ya in the Ozarks!!!!

    Welcome, Kevin!!

Personally, I'd keep the 202... There is a 1978 Super V not far from here, which needs a bunch of restoration work. I'd buy it if only I had half the skill needed to fix it up. I've owned Champions for 20 years and won't have anything else!!!

No matter what happens in the future I personally think that , the reputation that our boats have, the Boat Brand will never die, therefore, the boat will always be valueable to people on the market. The ride and quality speaks for itself, enough said.

    Didn't think they had a 202 in 88? I've got an 89 201.

On my title (Iowa), it says under model: 1988 202 DC. It is possible for this to be in error, but it was purchased as a 202 new. I bought it from the original owner. I'll look into it further, interested to know for sure. Thanks

The 1988 brochure shows 201...no 202s. Quite possibly, whoever was filling out the original paperwork on your boat made a tiny mistake and wrote/typed a 2 instead of a 1.

Yup no 202s in '88 that be a 201. Belive first 202s were around '95. Pat would know better than me.
