Spring Trip to Guntersville - Advice?

Planning a trip to Guntersville early April 2010 with my son, any suggestions on accommodations or favorite parts of the lake? We had a great trip this past spring on Dale Hollow, but we have to go earlier in April and are looking farther south. Thanks for any suggestions!

BBC rallies at G'ville stay at Covenant Cove on the south end of the lake. Not bad...not the Hilton, but decent...

That's about the easiest place to stay if you want to stay on the H20 and have easy access to I-20, across the street before you get to CC there is a Super 8, the first BBC Georgia/Alabama shoot out stayed there Parking is a pain though. On top of the hill there is the Sportsman Inn lot of fishing guys stay there and look like it has a great view of the valley. You also have the State park where you can either camp or rent a cabin. You could also stay up in Scottsboro too that it mid lake.

I'm hearing Covenent Cove shut down a couple of weeks ago. Check over on the Alabama board.

Coming from western NC so I was thinking about the Scottsboro area, any ideas? How is that part of the lake in the spring? Obviously we can cover some water but would like to put in somewhere near our lodging, thanks!
