    73SV & 73DV

Purchased the 73SV & 73DV from bbg and want to get some transducer opinions.

I will be putting the SV at the console and need to figure out where and how to mount that transducer.

    So my boat:
    02 Ranger 520dvx

I do not have a jackplate, so where's the best place to mount the transducer. This boat has a giant 2 ft setback. So do I try to mount right at the pad? I'd like to not have any issues at wide open throttle.

    Open to any suggestions.

Is that the year that Ranger had the built in jack plate? If so it may be tricky...I would recommend post some piks of your transom and let the guys here make suggestions.

Just picked the same two units. I am fabricating a bracket for the jack plate this weekend. I am running a 04 ZX225. Really impressed with the DV on the front. Only been out once and didn't have a chance to really change the settings. Went with factory and was impressed.

Did you run the standard trolling motor transducer bracket?

Yes the bracket that came with the down view worked perfect. The side view is going to be a problem. The pics I saw on one of the forums thought was going to work but I have looked at the jack plate and not sure it will now.
