    Major back surgery

Down but not out, It has been one week this past Monday. 8 screws, 4 pins, and bone graft. What's funny though, all I can think about is when will i be able to go fishing and the major addiction(BBC) Forum. A fellow will find a way to that keyboard. Iam wireless so that make it a little easier. I want to go fishing. Doc say three months of recoup time, that is going to be very, very, very hard. Just thought I would share .

All you need to do is move up north. Bass season doesn't open until the end of June! You won't miss a thing.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I am a chiropractor and see this stuff all the time. Take your time and do the rehab exercise as instructed. Very important or you get the see the surgeon again

I can sympathize with you, man. You'll probably be glad you had it done once you get a few months under your belt especially. I had 2 neck fusions done this past October 29, before that I was unable to fish for very long or with any intensity for the past 6 years. Now I'm bionic and excited about getting back into fishing hardcore after I'm fully recovered! Best of luck to you.

    Re: Major back surgery (lpolk)

Hope everything turns out well. I know it will. You need to buy you some crankbait blanks, airbrush and compressor and Createx paints, and spend your time painting and getting ready to go fishin. You will get addicted to tacklemaking. There are great guys on this site that make great baits, as well as tackleunderground.com

Just a though! It sure will help you pass the time.

It will all be worth it in the end. Good luck on a speedy recovery, you may beat the doctor's estimate.

Hydrilla, My mom is having this same kind of surgery on April 9th. How long did it take to fully recover? The Dr. is saying they may be able to fuze a piece of cadeavor (sp?) bone to or spine or they will have to take a dice sized piece from the upper part of her pelvis

Sorry for the hijack, just curious about the process.

    Re: Major back surgery (ChampionNorm)

I feel your pain.... I had 3 bones in my wrist fused 2 years ago. I was in a hard cast for 16 weeks and a soft brace for an additional 6 months. Once my doctor said it was ok to start using my hand I had my rehab guy make me a hard removable cast that supported my wrist and allowed me to fish with spinning gear for the remainder of the year.
