When I open my garage and my compartments in the boat I have a strong smell of gas. Is it permeating through the polypropylene tank or do I have a small leak in the gas tank?

First off welcome to the boards second off this is a common occurrence you more than likely don't have a leak "unless your gauge state substantially less than previously I wouldn't worry too much about it. It is probably just fumes seaping around fittings!

The gas smell is common with many brands. The tank permits the smell to permeate. My understanding is that it has never caused anything more than an annoyance. I leave my rod locker lids open when I am not on the water...The scent disperses...
I have heard that the "tank making industry" is working to find a light-weight material for gas tanks which will not allow for the smell to permeate...![]()
I also have 206SCX elite and same thing......I leave my lids open and it doesn't seem as bad. If I leave a sheatwhirt or clothing in the boat with the lid closed they get pretty funky smellin...
No problem other than a little odor. (I think)LOL
