Shallow Water Security for your Power pole

Seacured Fishing is selling the Guardian Lock. It replaces one of the 4 bolts on your Power Pole bracket and prevents anyone from access the bolt to remove the pole.

In Busness since 2011, they worked hard to help a group of bass fisherman that were involved in loosing their anchors.

This lock works. It's easy to install and costs $109 + 5.95 shipping.

That's only 5% of the original cost of the Pole itself. It saves you from dealing with insurance claims and filling out police reports when all you want to do is go fishing.

    Check out their web site.

They have a new product out also. "Release Me" a trailer lockout key for when your brakes lock up in reverse. It's Magnetic so you don't need to tape it. $13 shipped.

It would be more truthful if you disclosed you work for them. Not hard to realize almost all of your posts are promoting them and this isnt the first time you posted on the general forum about it.

109$ for that is crazy, its nice but not that nice. Ill take the chance. Being upfront about an affiliation is nice also

Ugh, I forgot about the optional force field for 35 easy payments of 15.99! It's only 35% the cost of a new powerpole so why not?

Where is Power Pole theft a problem ? I've never heard of anyone around here having them stolen. Nobody except for fisherman even know what they are.

The problem I see with that is when they get three bolts out then the last one is easy enough to break off, leaving the corner of the bracket on the adapter plate. Thieves don't care.

If theft is an issue there are all kinds of companies that make tamper-proof bolts, like these guys.

A product was offered up. If not wanted, just ignore it. No need to trash the guy or the product.

If he is affiliated he should disclose it, not spam the site with it. Don't you have to pay to advertise stuff like this anyways?

Is it fair to the Sponsors that pay to advertise here to let this guy promote his product for free ?

    Good question.
I would think it better to call him out on advertising considerations rather than trashing.
    I guess I'm being a pussy here.

$109 ? Wow. Wish they made locking lug nuts too.

Everyone says, just two bolts on my jack plate and the whole bracket is gone. It's not that easy. Try and get in to that tight space without some specialized tools. Plus most people never see these 2 bolts. We've done quite a bit of research and if you can't grab it in less then 5 minutes you stand the chance of getting caught. Then of course there's running across the parking lot with the bracket, power pole and cables leaking out fluid.

    Just saying.

I appreciate the idea from a security standpoint. However, what happens when you go to sleep and your boat is in the hotel parking lot and a potential thief shows up at 2am and has more than 5 minutes? Have you tested your product against lock picking, sledgehammers, saws etc? Have YouTube videos to prove it? What makes your product priced at $109 so much better than a security nut that is 80% less than the cost of yours? I work in manufacturing, riddle me how a lock with a two piece CNC machined & bead blasted steel sleeve comes to that price point?

I like the idea of it, I just don't understand how you justify the cost of a lock with a steel shell. These are questions your potential customers are going to ask, as well as people on here. And you should know that you are not allowed to push product on here without being a BBC Sponsor.
