    Battery Charger

I just bought a 3-bank pro mariner charger and i was wondering if i can just screw it to the bottom just like the two-bank charger that came with the boat. The boat is a 2008 188 Champ. I was looking at the two bank and it is a little smaller and the 3-bank i'm going to have to mount it a different angle to make it fit, i'm just making sure when i do that it will be okay when i mount the new 3-bank Charger

    Thanks

If you have the room. I have the series 2 pro-mariner and it is headed back to the shop because it won't hang upside down in my battery compartment. When the new one comes I need to talk to the engineers to see why. This is my 3rd Pro-Mariner and I ain't happy right now. I found out the hard way it wasn't working on last Wednesday getting ready for the NC Rally.

What old screw holes that don't line up, use epoxy to fill them. A three bank should fit, as I'm looking to buy a 3 bank dual pro one of these pay-off days.

I too was leary of drilling new holes in my boat. I replaced my charger a while back and ended up just using silicone to hold it in place, it was a fairly tight fit between the fuel tank and back of livewell. Hasn't moved yet, and if for some reason the boat is upside down and it decides to move, that will probably be the least of my problems.

I have a 2008 model 188 champion. Looking in the compartment is on one side is the two trolling batterys and in the middle is the oil tank and then the two bank charger and last the starting battery. When i take the two bank charger out i will don't know how the three bank charger is going to fit. There is literay know room on the bottom or on the side.

I might have room if i turn it at a angle?

    I don't know

Brent I wouldn't think the direction would make a difference. As long as it is flush and installed tightly so it won't bounce around.

I just used the two holes that lined up and tightened them good hasn't moved yet my problem was getting the battery that sits under the lid support bracket back in after some kicking cursing and twisting it finally fell into the hole it goes in!

I have a 4 bank quad300 promariner, it is lightweight and thin, it is a longer unit but considering the tradeoff it can be mounted almost anyhwere, i saw a picture of a boat with it in rear storage box and I havent mounted mine yet, it slides nicely between the oil tank and rear side, havent decided whether to mount or secure it in corner with foam or bungee cords,,i havent a problem yet charging batt. seems to be a good charger and quicker than most, plus you can leave it hooked up all the time w/o frying batts. I dont do that but nice to know...Good Luck...let us know what you ended up doing...
