    Bass & Walleye Boat Mag test

    New B&WB, Aug. issue, Tested a 183 Elite/Merc Pro XS 175. 62.9 mph. Kind of a short test. Only 3 pages.

    Did they print any set up numbers?


    Best i got was 63 mph 1/2 tank gas full livewell no co angler with an opti not pro xs.
    Measured pad to prop @ 3.25" 23 tempest plus

    Two of BBC's own is in that issue as well. Strokedyamaha's Stroker is shown on the cover running side by side with another BBC'rs boat.

    62.9 mph @ 5650 rpm, Merc 24" tempest +, 10" R&R slidemaster, prop shaft 4" below pad, air 74, water 82.

    I drove the 183 with a 150 Opti back in 2006. The 175 ProXS seems to provide a bump of 2 to 4mph over the standard 150 Opti. Link to some feedback from 2006 -&gt; http://www.bbcboards.net...25467

    The 183 is one my favorite 18 ft boats of all time. I think it performs well with a 150, but the 175 is what I would have.

    The 183 is nice but my favorite would either be a rear tank 203 with HydroTec 250 HPDI or one of the new 200 Elites...
