Spring River in S.E. Kansas around Baxter Springs and Riverton. The water is just getting back in shape to go out tomorrow. Fished it Wednesday night and did good but expecting it to be even better tomorrow.

Is that good fishing? I didn't even know you could get a boat in there. I always wondered about that little "lake" looking area.

Yea it's good at times. It's our little secret down here, but today was not good for me.

We have a small group of us that fish it. Today only 6 boats showed up, but we had a 16lb, 15lb, two 14 lb, 10lb and my 2.5 lb sacks .

But, hey at least I looked good on the water

Champ187 is correct.... Riverton is in the very far Southeast corner of Kansas.

    Matt,
I bought my boat from Albers, Marine in Arma Kansas. Just north of Pittsburg. Small ChampioN dealer but good people.

Second that about Alber's Marine. Bill and Rose Ann are great people. Did you get a pretty good deal compared to other dealer's prices? What kind of numbers are you seeing out of that 183?

    Re: all cleaned up! (MMesplay)

Yes I did get a good deal. At the time I bought the boat I felt like it was a good deal but didn't shop the price to much compared to other Champion dealers because I knew Bill and Rose Ann where being aggresive in selling the boat. Afterwards I saw some very aggresive pricing posted from C&O marine because they were trying to get rid of the Champions they had left and Albers was within $600 of C&O's "discountinued" prices. It was actualy the first ChampioN they sold since picking the line back up from when they sold Champs years ago.

I know they have some 07's left... 200 and a 198 I think, and both are beatiful. They also have an '08 188.

Numbers are as follows for my 183

    5400 rpm
    23 tempest plus prop
    61.4 mph max
    58-59 mph tournament loaded

If you have any other questions or are in this area let me know and I'll take you out for a drive.

Alber's is a great place with great people. Even a little extra money would of made the puchase worth it due to there friendly customer service.
