Never used a Lews so I can't compare.....but I have 2 Gen. 2 Revo Premiers that are the smoothest reels I've ever used period. I'll never get rid of them.

I have some first generation revo's that are still going strong, out of the 15 revo's I have I only had to send one back, and that was due to my own fault and it cost me $20.00 and had it back in a week. they fit my hand well and just feel right for me.

you really should be comparing lews and shimano.

No offense, but if he was interested in Shimano he would of asked about them.

Don't have any Lew's but have 21 abu's. I have two that were when they first came out about 9 years ago. They still are going strong. I keep them clean and oiled. Only had one of the original premiers I had to send in and they sent back a new gen 2. I really like the gen 3 models.

I switched all of my reels to lews. Can't speak for Abu.

I own both. However, IMO lews has more affordable options but are still light and of good quality. Both make great high end reels but I'll never be able to afford them.

Lew's all day and twice on Sunday. More for your $, more models, more options.

Have both and like the Lews on a whole better. Don't think the Revo S casts as well as the Lews. The Revo SX is close. The Lews BB1 blows the Revo S and SX away for me.

I have 12 Abu's ranging from 2nd gen S model to Gen 3 Premiers and Rockets. Take them apart every winter, clean and grease and never had a failure other than one worn Pawl. Just looking at some of the Lews at stores I swear they look like you interchange most of the parts with with my Abu's.

I have Gen 1 and 2 Premiers, great reels, I fish them hard. I am sure Lews are a wonderful reel also, but since my Premiers are still going strong, I have no need to make any more reel purchases.

At some point I wonder if we'll be honest about reels, rods, etc. and just admit they're basically all the same
