    1996 Ranger R72 Sport with Mercury 115HP

I have a 1996 Ranger R72 Sport with Mercury 115HP (two stroke). I am able to run it just under 40 MPH tops, and I think it should run a bit faster.

What is the top speed you are getting?
    What prop are you using?
What holes is the engine mounted on (I believe there are 4 hole options total)?

Thank you in advance! All advice is really appreciated.

Mount it second hole from the top without a plate and run a 22 laser II. Thats a 2+2 motor isn't it so it might have a slow hole shot. You should be able to get close to 48.

+1 A 22p Lazer II should be the ticket. Send it to Mark C and get some cup added to get some bow lift. On my 17ft Procraft 170 combo (F/S) a 22p Lazer II with cup added and a 5.5 in CMC manual jackplate I got 51 loaded with an empty livewell.

Mounted the engine on the 2nd hole form the top, installed Laser II 22 pitch prop and now able to get up to 45 MPH at 5500 RPm with a full load and a heavy partner.
