I also recently bought an '89 Cajun Fish n Ski. I also recently blew the 115 mariner (IL6) that came with it. Ultimately, I went with a replacement engine that tested out at 90 and 95psi on 2 cylinders, and 100psi on the other 4 (v6). It's an '88 Evinrude 150 XP, which also came with a jack plate (5" manual power lift). My mechanic is telling me we will need to modify the hole where the controls (steering cables and control cable exit to the transom and attach to motor). The hole and rubber boot are in the crease of the splash well already and we will need to cut like a half moon toward the transom abd also seal additional rubber gasket to existing gasket and possibly modify to new boot. And it's not like I don't believe him. I'm just curious if anyone else has run into this issue? If you may have had smae issue, if there is another way around this? It does appear that setting the engine even further back would hender the approach of - in particularly - the steering cables. I just ordered the dual nfb rotary pkg from teleflex the SS14815. Should be here next week.![]()
