Bilge Pump / Livewell Pump Issues

I have an '84 Cajun Fish and Ski with Livewell and Bilge Pump issues. I find it odd that both would go out at the same time, so I am thinking it's electrical in nature.

I want to start by checking the fuses. Anyone know if Cajun uses all inline fuses, or is there a fuse box/panel I should be looking for?

i have an 82' f/s . all boats in that day were custom wired at the dealership usually so there is not standard wiring or fuse placement or fuse panel. if you have a volt meter then set it to DC voltage, unwire the bilge pump and check voltage on the wires coming to the pump. If this is above you head (not that i think your an idiot, just some people dont know these things) then wire you pump directly to battery and see if it comes on. Worst case senario, put in new pumps and see if that works. hopefully one of these will help ya. i promise you dont want to start tracking down wires in one of these old boat. it is a nightmare. check out my tread on the bass boat resoration page to see some pictures of what the wiring looks like when you take the boat apart. If ya need any more "advice" LOL....let me know. will be glad to help. even if ya have to call and i can maybe walk ya through it.

thanks for the info. no problem on the wiring, and checking the voltage. just pulled all new wiring for the trolling motor, so i know what you mean about tracking down the wires.

any idea on the general location of both pumps? Never had to track them down before. I am guessing the bilge pump is worked on through the small access panel by the motor.

Not sure about the location of the livewell pump. The only evidence I see of it is a hose that runs through the ski storage in the sub-floor.

i'll give it a go tomorrow and see what happens. she's on a lift over the water, so it makes working on it a little tough.

i am going to pull her out of the water during the winter and restore it with a wetsand/buff, new carpet, seats, etc. i'll snap some pics for you.

both pumps should be under the panel in the splash well, good luck

new bilge pump installed... the one i removed looked like the original, and if that's the case, it was 23 years old.

i have a 1991 ragin cajun yamaha 115 V my live well will fill half way but it wont drain how can i fix it or what is the problem
