1993 Cajun 1850 Fishmaster - Trailer Winch HELP!!!

I need help replacing a winch stand for this boat.
I'm trying to replace the winch stand assembly (the one on my trailer was cut off before I bought it). I've seen pictures of this boat and trailer with winch on a vertial winch stand, without a bow stop.

I've put on a winch stand with a bow stop and everytime I trailer the boat, the front end goes up under the stop before it rests on the trailer.
Does anyone know where to get a proper stand for this? Or have any other pictures of a similar trailer and boat?

    I'd appreciate any help.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Can yo post a photo of the problem. Are yo sure your not backing the trailer to far into the water, and having the boat nose come in under the roller?

    Sorry if it was confusing.

I believe the original trailer for this boat had only a vertical winch stand without a bow stop, which left about 2-3 feet of winch strap between the winch and the boat eye.

As for loading, yes, that was my thought at first. I've tried several times, with the trailer further out of the water. To get the boat nose to NOT go under the roller, the trailer is so far out that the boat doesn't get up on the trailer enough to even be able to winch. I end up having to back the trailer in deeper, getting out and physically lifting the nose over the roller, then pulling the trailer out and let the boat settle on the trailer.

I've tried this on three different boat ramps, each with a different slope.

Keven it sounds like you my have it to high We need some pictures to make sure we understand what your talking about
My boat will hit the wench if I the ramp is extra steep or if I back in to far
There could be a couple things causing your problem but we need to see the pic

I agree with John, need a photo. Also, I think most winch stands I've seen are adjustable.

Here's what I have now. Notice where the previous winch stand was sawed off (behind the existing stand)

and here's one that I think it should have, that I need to find..

    UPDATE...

Here's my exact boatand trailer, with the winch stand I need...

I see what your asking about now. One thing I will say, is that the two boats that have the winch stands you need, look unsafe to me! Neither one looks like it would keep the boat on the trailer in a quick stop or swerve. Other than that, it looks like someone went to a lot of trouble to modify the stand on your trailer, and it's a shame it dosn't work correctly in loading your boat. Looks like your need a welding fab shop to cut the existing winch post down, and mount the winch itself on a plate welded to it? Or, just cut the roller top roller and mount off, and do without it.

I agree with Jack that really doesn't look safe to me. i would want the strap to go under the roller.

Being unsafe was my first thoughts when I saw these pictures. However, I think that is how they actually sold the trailers with these boats, as I have seen at least 3 other boat/trailer combos with this type of winch system.

That is why I put the winch stand you see in the first picture. I also had to replace the roller assembly (black roller) you see under the eye. I'm going to try to move the roller up closer to the eye about 6" or so to maybe help lift the front over the bow stop.

Anyway, thanks for all the help. I'll have to try a few things.

That's about the way the trail boss I had worked. There was a "V" block you drove over, then you hooked the winch to the bow eye. The only difference is my trailer had tw brackets welded directly below the bow eye, with a bolt run through them, that you ran the winch strap down under, then UP to the bow eye. That acted as a pully to pull the bow down firm on the "V" block.

When you loaded the boat you hooked up straight to the bow eye so the boat wouldn't slip back. After you were out of the water, you unhooked the bow strap, ran it under the bolt/pully hooked it back up and snugged it.

If you look close at this picture of my old one you can see the winch strap running down to the trailer, then back up to the bow eye.
