Caring for your..........CAJUN

PLAIN GELCOATS:

Buffing compounds and/or fiberglass wax are suitable for polishing plain gelcoats when used according to conventional procedures. (Buffing compounds and buffers should not be used on metalflake)

METALFLAKE:

To clean metalflake surfaces, we suggest that lacquer thinner be used for rub down. Following application and drying of the lacquer thinner, the surface should be hand rubbed (NO BUFFING) with a good emulsion type furniture polish. A lemon oil additive polish, such as CITRO SHIELD seems to work best. (Buffing compounds and buffers should not be used on Metal Flake)

SEATS:

Armorall should be used on seats and other upholstery on a regular basis.
(Note from DJ: Armorall is a petroleum based product and will certainly dry your seats out.)

LIVEWELL SYSTEM:

Should be flushed with water on a periodic basis. Use of vinegar while flushing is recommended occasionally.

SEALING:

Check that silicone seal under rub rail, around transom and in all mounting bolts and screws is complete. Keeping a small tube of silicone handy is a good idea.

STEERING:

Grease cable and hook-up regularly and make sure steering hook-up is tight all the time.

PLEXIGLASS WINDSHIELDS:

CLEANING: Do not rub the dirty surface with a dry cloth. To remove sand or any gritty substance, wash with plenty of mild soap and water, using the bare hand to dislodge any caked dirt or mud. A soft cloth, sponge, or chamois may be used, but only as a means of carrying water to the plexiglass. After all abrasive dirt has been well flushed off, dry with a clean, damp chamois or a soft napped polishing cloth. Avoid excessive rubbing as this tends to build up an electrostatic charge in the plexiblass that attracts dirt particles from the air

Remove oil and grease be rubbing lightly with a soft napped polishing cloth wet with, Plasti-Clean, Hexand, Detosone, White (not aviation or ethyl) gasoline, or sliphatic naptha.

DO NOT USE: alcohol, benzene, acetone, or carbon tetrachloride, fire extinguisher, or de-icing fluids, lacquer thinners, or glass window cleaning sprays, as they may soften the plexiglass and cause crazing. DO NOT use steel wool or abrasive scouring powders.
