    Jackplate setup

Guys, I have a 202 with 10in slidemaster and a mercury 3.0L. How far should the prop shaft be below the pad? I have heard 3 inch works well.

Thanks. I plan to use a yardstick and trim my motor down to level and see how far down I am now.

You will never see what she can really do unless you get 15" of setback some how, new plate or spacers if your looking for top end. Their was a trick you could do with those Merc were you could raise the cowling and drill some holes make her breath better and gain 1 to 1.5 mph.

I bought a rapid jack 15" setback. Where do you suggest I start as far as having my prop above or below the pad?
    Thanks

Same place as G E suggested with the 10", Start at 2" below and raise from there. Watch the water pressure. I'm running 1/4" below the pad with good pressure but yours may run better at a different height.

2" is to low 1"1/2 below pad go up 1/4 pop at time. If it a 10" do what Ge said you need a 15" to get max speed or BEEN THEIR WITH A 10 "..

As long as you are getting enough bow lift and water pressure keep going up, but, do not be afraid to run a bit lower as well. My 202 with 250 XS and 14 inches of setback likes it 2 1/2 inches below pad to get the bow up where I get get my best speeds.

That's funny best speed ever was as high as it would go running flat barely any trim with a little chop...

On mine it seems the higher I go up it runs better as well. But I believe it has alot to do with the prop that you are using.

The 4 blade TR 04 is Powertech? What pitch do you suggest? I'm currently running a yamaha 25M which I can turn 6400RPM, which is too high.

    Re: Jackplate setup (kuntry)

My 2001 202 with 2002 250 XB 1:75 TM loves the 27 Fury at 2 1/2 inches below pad. I got 84.1 @ 6200 . I had a 2004 250 XS on the same boat and got 80.4 at 5850 before hitting the rev limiter. The holeshot and load carrying and handling of the 27 Fury was the best of anything I tried ...As well as it did not blowout on breakover to plane or in rough water like the Trophys. Also ...because of the large hub the Fury does not load up with weeds like the small hub Trophys do. I know that some others on here do not like the Furys but on my 202 with both the XB 250 and the XS 250 they performed better than anything else ....and I tried a lot of props....

Stock they suck out hole. txp 4 Blade work great also give Ge call either work.

    Re: Jackplate setup (Fear-This)

The holes that need to be drilled, what size? Are you talking about the TR04 power tech prop. The power tech shop is about 10 miles from my house. Do you have more info about how to reach smoke at the pit stop?
    Thanks again
