    Help with setup on 210

Hey guys great site. Bought a 02 210 last year. Boat came with 27 pitch 4 blade that works great. I am looking for a little more, I can run this boat with 3 people loaded with gas and tons of tackle at 75 mph gps @5800 rpm. I have a 04 Evinrude 225 ho with 12" jack plate, great holeshot just looking for a 2 man setup for tourney's. I put a 28p raker II on it this weekend down at tablerock and holeshot felt like a big 3 blade, once on plane it felt like it wouldn't lift and I was running 68 mph @6200 rpm. Just felt like it was blowing out I ran it across the lake and temp light came on. Any suggestions for setup, from what I have read I think I need to lower motor. Sorry for long 1st post.

Find you a good old style 28 Raker. The key is a good or have one worked. The old styles are much better than the Raker II. Set your motor at 1.5" below the pad and run it. Come up 1/4" at a time until you lose wp or speed.

If it was running 75 with 3 people loaded, I would just put the 4 blade back on and fish.

Re: Help with setup on 210 (Rebel1)

I want a straight out 2 man tourney setup for fastest possible top speed. I will try bringing the motor down again and start over with the 3 blade. Thanks guys will repost after it warms up and I can take it out again.

Is the original raker a 13.5" od?

If your running 75 stay with that prop.

Re: Help with setup on 210 (Fear-This)

Just curious what kind of 27p 4-blade you had on it to start. Do you still get the good hole shot when boat is loaded with full livewells? How far is the motor below pad, etc. I may need this kind of prop or setup. I have an 01 210 with the same motor. I have a 28 trophy plus and the hole shot is bad. Just ciurious let me know if you don't mind. thanks

Here's my opinion...a 28 trophy is probably one of the worst props on that combo there is.

Re: Help with setup on 210 (GE Blazer)

What do you suggest? That was what came on it when I bought it. My problem is i fish a lot of shallow lakes and I need to get up and down faster. It carries a load good but I would give up some of that to have a better hole shot.

Re: Help with setup on 210 (crab bass)

I think its a txp 4 blade, it came on boat when I bought it. It was worked over by Mark. I know it isn't a mercury prop. It has great holeshot with 4 blade, I have it about 2.5" below pad. I am lowering it 1" and running a buddies raker 28 in place of the raker II I tried before. The boat runs great, it has awesome holeshot and plenty of lift, I just need more top end for 2 man setup for tourney's.

With a 225 HO on 210, 75-76 tourney loaded is about as good as it gets. We have found thru testing on a 210 with a 250 Yamaha with the motor set at 1/2in. below the pad that a 26 TXP was the best for a heavy tourney load and it will run around 76-77.

Re: Help with setup on 210 (Rebel1)

Do you think I should try the 26 txp or the 28 txp? I assume I should definitely get the 4-blade? I do get 74-75 loaded with the 28 trophy plus but I can't stand the hole shot I am getting.

Re: Help with setup on 210 (Rebel1)

I ran it today with both the 3 blade 28p raker I ran that about 3" below pad and it ran 73 @ 6200, water pressure is 25 psi. I ran my 27p 4 blade at 1.5" below pad. I can't raise the motor any higher unless I move it up on the jack plate. I ran it loaded with 2 tanks of gas and a lighter partner and it pushed 77 mph @ 5900. Do you think higher up to 1/2" below pad I will see more mph. Maybe a 28p 4 blade? My holeshot is amazing with my 4 blade, it feels like a 17' boat.

Any body running a bobs nosecone on their blazers, or evinrudes for that matter. Will that help me get a little more mph?

Re: Help with setup on 210 (tangerine427)

You might try a 26 Fury but by the sounds of it your prop setup is going to be hard to improve upon . You might get a bit more with that motor before overrevving with a 26 Fury installed but whether it will pull it to any more topend than you now have, trying one is the only way to know.. That must be a strong Evinrude

Re: Help with setup on 210 (canadablazer)

Boat responded well to lift of motor. I cannot get the jack plate any higher. I think I might have to raise it up on the plate itself. It is about 2" below hull and is running 77-78@ 5900. I have some Boyesen reeds coming for it. Would a nose cone help me break the 80 barrier?
