    Fuel Tank Selector Switch?

    Guys,
Looking for some input. '07 202, noticed that the manual tank selector dial (near throttle) would not move, stuck between starboard and port. Open the back and unscrew the plastic bracket that connects the cable to the valve box(?). Cable moves freely, so now I unscrew and remove the top of the valve box. There are absolutely no moving parts inside, nothing that would toggle to one side or the other when trying to move the selector switch. Only thing under the cover is a spring, everything else is "fixed", which explains why the switch will not move. Looks like the motor is pulling from both tanks, two openings where the fuel lines connect to the valve. Is it alright to let it ride? What about the elec tank switch on the panel? Anybody else have a problem?

    Thanks in advance,
    Brad

Just leave it inbetween the port and starbord and it pulls from both sides. The indicator switch on the console should read accurately to either tank. I dont understand the cable in the back though. Was the boat pre-owned? Mine was pre-owned and I had to figure it out. Just check the tanks after a day on the water and see if the fuel consumption is the same on both tanks. Dont know why Blazer built the manual selector in the boat.

The manual selector is for some who got used to using the gas tanks to balance the boat.

Brad, when you took apart the fuel selector did you look at all the o-rings in side. MIne was still moving, but always sucking from both tanks one more than than the other depinding on which direction it was turned. Those selectors are really easy to take apart and clean. If none of the plastic parts are broke, clean it, replace the o-rings, and try it again. If the o-rings are not in it it could suck air, or from both tanks. Hope this helps.

    Beez,
The o-rings look are in place and look fine. The square, middle post on the bottom piece (inserts into and through the top piece and connects to the bracket with the cable which runs to the selector at the drivers seat) is stationary, does not move. So apparently the whole set up (having a fuel tank selector) is useless unless you change the valve. I prefer to pull from both tanks, just wanted to make sure everything was OK.......

    Thanks for the responses..........

If I could only figure out why I keep getting water in the fuel I would be happy. Back to Jr. @ Pitstop...........

Hmmmm....I always try to use starboard first, thinking that I want to pull gas off the side that I am sitting on. Am I thinking backwards?
