    Ran a 27T1,,,,,

I have been running a 28 TXP on my 202/250 HPDI with good results. My only complaint is the holeshot/midrange is not as good as some other props. I dinged my 28 TXP up so I borrowed a friends 27T1 to run. I was a little disappointed. It ran really good on bottom and midrange but did not run good on top, 77 @ 5700rpm is all I could get out of it. With the same load I have been running 80 @5500rpm with the 28 TXP. I am a little confused why I can't turn this 27T1 anymore rpm's, I would have thought with a 250 HPDI I could have turned it close to the limiter? My search for a summertime prop continues, I am going to try a 27 TXP and a 26 Trophy.

    Re: Ran a 27T1,,,,, (tnmark)

Try a 26 FURY . I got very close to 79 at 5850 on my 2004 250 XS that I think has a lower rpm limit than your HPDI. I found it to be nearly perfect on my low rpm motor except that it went to the limiter too easily and they don,t make a 27 yet .... I think you will like it especially if yours revs any higher. I am not sure where the rpm limit is on an HPDI but if it is 6000 rpm or more you should get great speed (81 or more) and great holeshot as well as load carrying ability: --- mike

Mark, try letting your motor down a 1/2in. The T-1 cannot run as high as the TXPs, not enought lift.

Bingo!!!, after thinking about how the boat ran with the T1 (would not lift the nose) I think that is the problem. If I get back to the lake I may drop the motor a little and retry.

    Nice call Jason!
It's probably still not going to run as fast as the TXP but should be with in a MPH. Don't look for your RPMs to change it'll just speed up.

Mark should be able to spin the T-1 to 5900-6000 at around 79-80. Mark, have you been able to try a 26 or 27 TXP 4 blade?

I thought about trying a 26 TXP 4 blade but have heard from a few people that the Trophy is faster. From what I hear that new Fury prop may be worth a look.

I have not seen a Trophy that is faster than a TXP, but they do throw blades faster. The reports that I heard on the Fury is it is equal to a worked Tempest. If you want a fishing prop, a Croxton worked Bravo 1 or a Hydromotive Quad IV-X OB, both with dual PVS holes, will give you pretty good top end with killer holeshot. I ran GE's 28 Bravo and it was a couple of mph slower on top, but the hole shot was awesome.

    TXP - T1 diffs, choice??

    My ZX200, 200 Yammy..has the 26TXP at 5,950 as the current prop...
    sooo, which 2nd prop?
a 26-27 TXP or a 26-27 T1...and why? What are diffs (all you know)?
(I hear TXP runs higher better but what else?

    Re: Ran a 27T1,,,,, (tnmark)

If you're looking for a good summer prop, get a Hydromotive Quad IV-X OB in a 27 pitch and have Mark put dual PVS and blueprint it.

My experience with the Trophy vs. the TXP O/T4 is the Trophy is sometimes faster on top. Holeshot and midrange goes to the TXP. Longevity goes to the TXP.

The 27T-1 is a good prop, but most will not run on top with a TXP depending on the boat. Since we are talking about a Blazer, I have never had one outrun one of mine. Vyper seems to love his 29T-1, but his particular setup is the only one I have seen this happen with.

I have a 04 202 with 250 Yamaha EFI 15" jack plate , Bobs nose cone and a 27 T1 B&P by MARK running 1/2 inch above pad at 6100rpm.GPS 83.5 1 person 80.5 with 2 people, turney load and live wells full. Hole shot is also great .If your prop , jack plate height ,and trim angle are all set up right a T1 works great.I have also heard Mark Croxton can do wonders with a 28" Bravo 1.

I have a 27 T1 that has a descent crack in one of the fins. Is there anything I can do with it or should I just throw it away?

I you have a Yamaha motor that is still under warranty they will give you another one if it does not have any damage from striking an object.
