    2001 XB idle adjustment

Which screw is it? I need to adjust the idle up about 100 RPM's. It runs great on muffs at idle, but when in the water doesn't. Everything else runs as intended. Serial number OT235389.

Look between the VST and the intake (near the top of the VST).

Hidden behind the VST is a flathead (spring-loaded) screw, that acts as the stop screw for the UPPER throttle plate.

Adjust this screw CLOCKWISE to raise idle speed.

Allow 20-30 seconds for idle speed to stabilize after each adjustment.

One "backup" check you can do to verify your setup correctly- look at IDLE TIMING. A well-setup system (proper fuel delivery, proper TPS setting, proper idle speed) will have IDLE TIMING very close (or dead on) 4 ATDC. This is only an INDICATOR (timing is ECM controlled).
