    Low voltage Alarm

A fellow basscat family member told me to put this post here. I posted it under Misc. Read down below:

I have been having kind of a minor problem that I don't want to develop to be a major problem. I have a BassCat P2 08' model with a 777c (bow)and 787c2 (console). While fishing a few hours. I get a low voltage alarm on both units. I clear the alarm but they both keep coming back. I max. out on both alarms limits an I keep getting them. I am wondering if my batteries aren't doing what they need to be doing? I have 2 optima batteries. Reason why I am asking now is because I am getting ready to install to (2) 898's an I fear of having weak batteries while fishing on the lake.

    Re: Low voltage Alarm (Bgscott)

What are the voltage readings on the unit's and what is the voltage on the battery itself when this occurs? What group size battery are you using? You say that you have two Optimas but these units would(should) be running off your main cranking battery.

What are your units voltage alarm settings..I had a customer come in complaining of alarm going off on his..I checked his setting and was set to alarm at 12V...I'd start there assuming your not having any other electrical/battery issues...

    Re: Low voltage Alarm (shermsmarine)

Yeh Sherm, I checked that the other day. I can't remember exactly what the reading was, but I think it was alarming at 11.3. So I rised it to 12v. I had not been fishing to see if it made any difference yet.
