    Ultimate set-up?

Alot of people on here have alot of experience with bass cat. If you had your choice of bass cat boat and motor what would you get. I will try to use your ideas when I decide to get my new toy! Hopefully it will be my last for a while.

    Two options for me.....

    A Classic with a 200 Pro XS

    A Cougar with a 250 Pro XS

Both will be gentle on gas as well as handle big enough water.

My Puma FTD with 250 Pro XS is ultimate. But.......... If money were no object I would have to get a Jag with the 350 SCI. That would be one bad Mississippi River runnin sumbich!

Andy got it right. If money were no object, then the 350 Verado on the Jaguar would be the real deal. There is no comparison!

The choice is for your ultimate rig and as Phil points out below, your budget and how long you intend to keep one play into that.

Re: Ultimate set-up? (Bass Cat Boats)

No doubt a Jag w/ a 350 Verado is the ultimate. I would have one if I planned on keeping one for years. Therefore, I settle for the second best..........a Puma FTD with a 250 Pro XS!

Whichever one my wife, son and I can spend a few hours on every weekend. Someday it will be a P4 with 200HP Merc/SHO.

Yep, that is what I have. This boat is the boat of my dreams. Took long enough for me to get it too.

They run fine, though only a 25 hp bump over the 250 Pro Verado.

    Re: (DOUGMCGEEFTD)

love my puma but disappointed in the pro 250 XS so I would put a yammie back on it. The merc has been in the shop more in the last 3 years then my old yammie in 10 plus years.
