HELP! Routing 1199 Transducer to Fortrex 101 Trolling Motor on 2009 Ranger z520
I have run into a slight issue... I just bought 2 HB 1199 units (1 for my console and the other for my trolling motor). I am not new to installing HB units, but on my 2009 Ranger I cannot find a suitable place to route the wiring for the transducer... I want a clean install but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it.
My original plan was to route the ducer cable up the trolling motor and then through the hole aft of the recessed trolling motor pedal... this would be the ideal method...but the hole is too small... I could widen the diameter of that hole with a drill bit but I would prefer not to do that... The grommet is really the issue, the hose that runs from the trolling motor pedal to the front panel is plenty wide enough to pull the ducer cable through but the initial grommet diameter will not let me pull/push the ducer connector end through it... Drilling it wider would also pose its own set of problems because it is such a tight space and that grommet is glued to the fiberglass.
That hole carries the power for my trolling motor which is a Fortrex 101 and it carries the cable for the US 2 sonar connection... the hole is just too small... I even pulled all the wires out to see if I could route the HB 1199 ducer cable but again it was too small... I can't cut the ducer line and splice it so I am trying to figure out what to do...
At this point I am at a loss... Like I said I want a clean install but I can't figure out a suitable routing method for the ducer cable.. wish they made the connection smaller or the routing tube wider!!!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
