this is what I use .. I think I got it at BPS. The raised strips you see have magnets underneath and hold the tools from bouncing out

    Re: Tool Holder (TNT)

Not to derail this thread...seems like he got it answered anyway...but why is it that the black metal Rapala split ring/needle-nose pliers that I bought 5 years ago, are the only one's I have ever owned that have not rusted? I use them on the Potomac, they have been to the beach surf fishing, on the St Johns, and everywhere else. These things just wont rust. I am overly impressed with them.

If you are looking for cheap Overtons has a cell phone caddy for $8.99 that works pretty well as a tool holder. I think West marine has the same thing for around $10.

    Re: Tool Holder (rangerb)

Love the rapala one. I mounted it under my console rather than on the outside incase it did not hold and I did not want holes in my fiberglass. I also keep a pair of pliers up in my recessed foot pedal for the trolling motor...couple thick magnets hold it nicely, so I have a pair of pliers handy whether I am at the front of the boat or back at the console.
