Scrounger Heads--HELP with line twist

I know the Scrounger heads catch fish, especially in current situations--BUT--how do you fish the durn things without getting a major, unrecoverable, line twist in less than an hour.

I fish one on Pickwick last week, it looked like it was running fine, I did not retrieve it extremely fast, never saw it spin, but within about 45 minutes, the line on that baitcast rig was so twisted that I just had to put it up.


Line would wrap around the rod tip two feet down the rod.
I've never seen anything twist line so badly.


What is wrong here???

I dunno man. Ive never had any issue with them causing line twist.....yet.
What do you have on the head?

No line twist here,with casting gear.

It's twisting on the cast not the retrieve. Try overhand, side-arm or switch to spinning gear until it improves.

Attach a swivel to the line tie with split rings

Never had that problem wigh scrounger heads here. If its too bad id try puttin a swivel on it with a split ring like in the above post. The smalle the better..

I have never experienced any issues with line twist on the scrounger, I throw side armed
