Motor History 1998 Rude 225 Vindicator

Looking to the Rude Gods for a little History lesson on a 1998 Rude 225 Vindicator.
It runs like a whipped dog on steroids, idels good, good mid range and Lots f Bark on Top End ( 68mph Speedo, 5800 RPM 2 guys on a Sprint 207 Pro DC ).
I love the motor just looking for history as I plan to keep a LONG LONG time. I decarb annually and Fresh Plugs and RUn XD 50 with Premium fuel.
Only thing I have noticed is on the Engine Block left side top near looks like a thermostat or ?? where the hose goes to right side ( I am assuming this is the cooling water ) there appear to be water stains on the block ( white dried water spots ), when running I look back and the water is peeing out the discharge so I am puzzled ?? Looking at installing a Water Pressure gauge , what is the pressue this beast should be running ??

    Model # C225STLECS
    Serial # G04433975
    Built 11/1997

Thanks and I appreciate the info.

    Thanks....Appreciate the feedback...
Any ideas what the dried water spots could be ?? I dont want to Cook it, I hear the #2 can run hot, but I dont have it on a Jackplate , she is strappped to the transom, and I have been told since she isnt running hi-up and out of the water I should have no issues ?? Any truth to this ??
    Thanks

H20 spots can come from the blow off valve (upper left next to the output side of the port head). Pull your #2 carb HS orifice and get the # go up 2 sizes, and you should be good to go. Make sure all the HS's are seated fully and that you have the "tit" drain plug not the smooth style.

Not to highjack the post but which cylinder is #2 and when you say "tit" plug and not smooth....is that the drain on the bowl?

Higher octane fuel gives your motor a cushion in case something goes wrong.

Say your fuel pump starts to act up or you get a small blockage in the fuel line, this will cause a lean condition and the higher octane fuel may help prevent the detonation that a lean condition causes giving you a better chance of finding the problem before complete meltdown.

On your motor the 87 will not perform any better than 93. Now 130 race fuel would give you some issues but 93 won't make any difference at all.

Joe, looking at the front of the motor # 2 will be top left, yes, the carb drain plugs, the new style keeps the Jet seated. The smooth style allows the jets to back out and can cause a "lean out" condition.
