    Rod cleaning???

I just got my rods out of storage and man they need to be cleaned. Guess I put them to use last season. What are y'all using around the house to clean your rods. I am going out tomorrow and would like to get them clean before hand.

Also is there a product out there specifically for cleaning and maintaining your rods?

    Any help will be great.

Also not sure this belongs here, if not sorry.

I wash mine with Dawn & hot water once a year and when dry I wipe the blanks down with BTS. They look new and the BTS helps the dirt wipe off easier.

Honda spray cleaner and polish. It may just be Pledge in a Honda can but it is the best thing I have ever used, it cleans all the gunk off and leaves a nice finish which helps to keep it form getting dirty in the first place.

I just wipe them down with a wet rag then dry and put a coat of wax on them... Good old Turtle wax or what-ever you use..

I use armor all wipes on the blanks and through the eyes (if it catches you have a damaged eye) and I use magic eraser on the cork handles. Works good.

Windex does wonders on the cork handles. I spray on to a shop towel and clean in circle or twisting around handles

Thanks for that advice, I talked to Hunt and he said " no sense washing your rod unless you intend to wax it afterwards"

Dishwashing liquid, hot water, and a green scrub pad for the cork
Window cleaner and a towell for the blank
Finish it with window cleaner on a q-tip for the eyes to make sure they're not nicked.

Use the cleaner/wax solution you use on your boat.
