    Outer Banks fishing ?

Interested in maybe getting an Outer Banks charter for maybe Tuna or Sailfish. My search here came up with Chris Elliot (Crystal Coast Charters) and Tony Tillet (Carolinian). Any more info on these guys? I couldn't find a website or anything. If anyone has any other suggestions on Charters, I'd greatly appreciate it. I think I heard maybe Pirates Cove also. Thanks!

Call Oregon Inlet fishing center. They have a bunch of Charter boats that go out for them and you won't have to drive all the way down to Hatteras.

There are a bunch of different charter boats all along the coast depending on where you are going.

The one time I fished there I went out of Oregon Inlet and fished the Captain BC, great trip!!! We caught Tuna, Wahoo, King Mackeral, and Sailfish when most other boats struggled to catch anything at all!

Re: Outer Banks fishing ? (bassercl)

I am a frequent flyer at the Outer Banks Fishing Center. My favorite boat (or the boat I was on with the most success) was True Grit. We vacation down there for a week in September every year. Every year I get a charter. We have been doing this for about 10 years now.

We go tuna fishing and routinely pick up a limit of mahi as well. 6 folks make a charter. You can do a make-up charter as long as there are 6 bubbas on the boat. I buy my own charter so I can pinpoint the boat and the date. Otherwise you are taking a chance of not going when you want to or not going at all. You get a full refund if you don't go.

Largest haul to date was 2007. Six bubbas, 2200lbs of tuna and mahi; with 4 ciatation tuna (over 200lbs). I personally came home with 300lbs of tuna steaks and mahi fillets.

Smallest haul to date was 2011. Six bubbas, 400lbs of tuna and mahi. Still fun though.

The average haul over the years has been in the 6-800 pound range. Tuna steaks on the grill for dayz!

Let me know if you have any other questions.
