Thank goodness for the live bassmaster feed last week

Because ESPN did a number on that final weigh in. They cut out all the emotion, Alton Jones' talk, Chris Lane talking about his family. I guess they can't show anyone being thankful for their blessings.

The on water coverage was put together really well, Lots of live action and seeing the boats running was cool. But they could not have possibly ran through that weigh in any faster.

I had zero complaints. Loved that they show Chris and Bobby on the stage, that was real emotion. Also loved the footage of Vinson dealing with the second place finish. Poche' taking a minute to make sure Vinson was alright was great. I also liked the way winning sank in to lane as he knealt by the trophy. He also mentioned it meant a lot to have KVD hand him the trophy. I can't find anything to complaint about. I loved the slo-mo footage and the on the water coverage. They did a great job.

I felt pretty bad for Vinson there at the end and they made sure to let everyone know how shittay he felt but it was nice to see Poche have his back. All in all I'd say it wasn't bad wasn't terrific either but I was satisfied and thought it was better than nothing.

Who really wants to watch that much of a weigh in anyway? In the past they wasted way too much footage on the weigh in and letting the studio hosts over analyze and jabber on and on...Sanders needs to retire and let Zona handle the on the water communications with the anglers as his commentary was in a total vacuum it sucked so bad...

What do you really learn from watching a weigh in? The on the water action was the story unfolding at this Classic and they had some great shots. Wouldn't you rather see more of that footage?. Besides you got to watch it on the live feed already so it would just be a rerun for anyway. If a network is going to give Bass fishing the air time and try to sell advertising you had better have an audience that wants to see Bass fishing and you'd better show them Bass fishing.

I agree... the slow motion videos were pretty sweet. Sucked to see EE lose that biggun on that stump!

I enjoyed the coverage very much, my only complaint about the way in was that you did not really get to see the emotion. Yeah they showed Chris lane neal with the trophy but they cut out the part where his family came up on the stage and they got in the boat, his son grabbed the American Flag and put it on the boat. He spoke about how cool it would be to take that ride around the arena with his family and they only showed a snipet of it.
There were several guys in the top 10 that really showed that they were class acts, great role models, and gave some great speeches on stage (Alton Jones, Bill Lowden, Kevin Wirth) I had my wife and kids stay up to watch and see how thankful these guys are for their opportunities and I thought that would be a good example for the kids.

It was pretty cool how surprised Poche was at how long he got to stay in the hot seat, but they didn't show that either.

I think they cut it down because of the Gymnastics, it was suposed to be 2 hrs, but it was not.

I was a little upset with it myself. Only because the gymnastics ran over and of course I dvr'd it....

It completely surprised me that they showed Greg dealing with the heartbreak of coming so close. Kudos to BASS for this. In this day and age, it's supposedly all about winning, but let's face it, the vast majority of us rarely get to experience that. That was a real-life moment and I appreciated them showing it. I also appreciated the classiness shown by Keith Poche. In the world of competition, pro bass fishing stands alone with the class and character of its competitors.
