Trying to help a fella I know.

He's lookin at LED TV's, Mostly in 40" size, and has been trying to figure out what to get. All are 1080p and most of them are 120Hz.

I can read specs all day & go with him & stare at them to see what the differnces are but He's also trying to keep it as Inexspesive as possible.

Here is what He's decided on & not sure what to get.

    Samsung UN40D5005....so it's the 5005 series. its about $650?

Hitachi LE42S605....this is 42", bigger than he wants but has same specs. Don;t knwo much about them.....$600

Philips 40PFL7705DV/FV.......has built in wireless & Media Connect.....just under $600

He has found a few others but have been more $$ than he was looking to spend.

    thanks

Some may say this brand isn't any good. But I just got an Insignia(a Best Buy brand) 1080. It has an awesome picture, plus it has a 4 year warranty on it. The one I got was a replacement for a Westinghouse I had that crashed under warranty. Mine is a 55" but they have that brand in many sizes. List on mine was $699. Just a thought.

Samsung without a doubt the best picture out there regardless of the price. They have great reviews and the picture will speak for itself. I have a 55" and a 40", both are outstanding.

might have him look into that Bill Thanks

I know a lot don't think that Insignia stuff is that good, but I bought a blue-ray about 2 yr ago in that lineup and has wireless in it. Been a good unit. Can download Netflix & Cinema-Now is I want to. Has Pandora built in too

Tell him to get the samsung, its the best one in those choices hands down. Samsung tv's are a great product. I know, we have a 40" & my pop has a 46". Consumer reports rated them good so thats what we went with

Believe it or not my wife bought us a Spectre 40" for the garage at Menard's. Great picture and it was around $378. Good luck.

I have two (2) Insignias in the house and they have been great. The oldest one (55") is about four years old now. Plays like a new one still.

Personally, my 2 favorites are Samsung and Toshiba. I currently have a 32" Toshiba LED with an awesome picture.
