Dish network packages

For years we had the bare-bones Dish Family pkg. for $20 that included 2 outdoor channels. Before we upgraded to one of the HD pkgs., my wife asked me if there was anything I was interested in adding. I said it would be nice to get ESPN so I could see more than one football game a week. So we moved up and now we get ESPN and ESPN2 but no outdoor channels.

Who dreams up these combos? I assumed because we were upgrading that they'd add more channels to our existing ones but no-o-o-o. No longer any hunting and fishing shows at all that I can find. After all, the ESPN demographic couldn't possibly overlap with the outdoor networks, could it? I guess it's true that sports are "sports" while hunting and fishing are "activities".

Thank God we now get Oprah and 12 new church channels.

I hear ya. I think we have one channel that has hunting shows. But I think you can add the others for a fee...LOL

Just a thought. Depending on how many years you have had Dish you might have been grandfathered in on an old package that they no longer offer. Which might have included the outdoor channels. When you moved up to a different package to get espn that took away your old package deal.

You can get the outdoor channels for $3 extra and it included 3 channels.
