    Any alternatives to the PM1.

I would like to upgrade to a bigger cranking battery. I have a 150 Opti with 3 lowrance units and LSS. I currently have a Optima Blue Top. It is not bad yet but getting weak. Wont hold a complete charge long, causes the charger to kick back on.

Was wondering if there is another alternative out their over 800cca or 1000MCA with alot of reserve minutes. I cant see paying $250+ for a battery.

Problem is around here there are not many options to purchase batteries. Our Deka place just went out of buisness.

This is what Sherm is using with success. He says plenty of people with big electronics are having issues with battery draw and found this standard diesel truck battery the solution. You will need to CAREFULLY tap out your connections one size larger to fit over the post. I used one on my 175 Opti and now my 225 and it'll spin one over all day running everything on the boat.

This would be my second choice... A little cheaper, and even more power. Made by DEKA and on sale right now. http://www.cabelas.com/marine-...shtml

This one probably meets your needs, but if you can fit the one above, it would be even better.

The Sherm from here on the boards? I am looking for a battery and am considering the group 30 Advanced Anglers, but I like the price of the battery you reference.

The Deka 9A31 or the Cabelas 31 AGM are similar in capacity to the Interstate Truck battery, which is a good battery, but is a conventional wet cell.

Yes Sherman Truss from Sherms Marine. The battery I posted is what he puts in the boats with Optis including mine.

Thanks man. Have you been pleased with them? They will save some coin and will be much easier for me to return if there are any issues (have dealers all around me)

Not one problem. I've had one on the 175 ProXS and moved it over to the 225 Opti when I traded. It's what he puts on the Opti's for anyone who does a bunch of idle time. My 175 had less than two hours of WOT time with 120 hours on her when I traded it. Be careful with your motor terminal ends. They will need to be drilled out a little and are soft. This battery is made for a diesel truck so the ends are larger than a standard marine battery. Everything else fits right in place. He has guides running the Great Lakes using this battery running big electronics, I haven't put a dent in it.
