Sunday morning, while visiting my cousin in Orlando, around 5:30am I heard a dull "thump" noise outside the van, which sounded like metal...but muted. It had a small ring to it, as if thumping the back of a chrome automobile mirror. However, the sound was at the rear of the van.

I tried to investigate the noise, through my ears, but kept drifting in and out of sleep, which made it a little hard to pinpoint. Finally, I decided that it was at the rear of the van, closer to our heads, but it must have been some little critter -perhaps a squirrel or bird dropping something onto the roof. Whatever it was, it certainly wasn't a threat, or cause for alarm.

Happy with my assumption, I slipped into a deep, dreamless sleep, which felt oh so fabulous...until...

I was startled soberly awake by the loud crying squawk of a peacock...directly INTO the back window of the van!!

I opened the door and squawked back, then saw the beak marks where he'd been hammering at his own reflection in the bumper...haha!

Anyhow, I was able to capture some mating ritual stuff...pretty awesome show he was givin' those peacock ladies around him!
