Attempts to federally ban lead fishing tackle are once again thwarted by angler actions but legislation is needed to stop future efforts

Listening to the voices of thousands of activist anglers, on February 14, 2012, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) once again rejected <http://keepamericafishing.salsalabs....8HdvqnpMpm> the most recent petition to federally ban lead fishing tackle under the Toxic Substances Control Act. Good I'm glad they did. They need to crack down on the businesses that use & recirculate water back into the lakes & the sewage that gets into our waters way more than they do the lead thing.

The federal ban was defeated but we still face challenges at the state level. New Hampshire is experiencing this right now. There is a post pinned at the top of the Lounge asking for help. You need not be a NH resident to help. Please assist us in our fight. Your state may be next.

Honestly, either way you feel about it, it would be a another nearly unenforceable law to go with some of the others out there. It is also to easy to make your own which presents another problem they will have even if they get them off the shelves.
