    Smith mountain lake

I am heading down to SML next week from PA and was wondering if the water level is normal. Last year this time it was real low. Had a hard time finding a ramp with enough water on it.

Last year I the only ramp I could fine was just across the big bridge. All I rembember is that I had to drive down a very steep grade to get to ramp. Fishing last October was very good for me considering I am a out of stater. My daughter lives in Roanoke and will be there for a week. While my daughter & wife are doing the girl things I will be fishing. Last year I had good success fishing a drop shot and a shaky head around docks. Weather looks good for the upcoming week. I will most likly be using the ramp at the marina just across the steel bridge on hardy rd in vinton. I have used it before. It is way up the river but the closest one to Roanoke.

Why not just use the public ramp there at Hardy? Good ramp and plenty of parking....I'll be there on Wednesday, let me know how you are doing

Our plans have changed due to my 95 year old father having to be admitted to the hospital for a number of health issues. Wife & I will have to re schedule for another time when he gets better. Thanks for all the comments
