Need help with a camera please

Ok guys Im sorry if this has been asked several times. My wife and I were talking the other day about getting a new camera. We have a couple laying around but their not worth a crap, they take real blurry pics. Any who my sister has a nikon something or another and she takes a lot of pictures and some good ones at that. Me nor my wife know enough about cameras just to go out and spend alot of money on one. We would like to get the best we can for around $600.00-$700.00 dollars. I seen a nikon coolpix P500 at walmart for around $600.00 that was the camera and an extra lense, the camera was 340 and the lense was 240. Ive looked around on the net at the ratings for this camera and the couple reviews I read were ok. Again like I said we dont know much about cameras but we would like to get the best bang for our buck. If any of yall could help recomend a good camera for around the price mentioned it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time

We bought the daughter a Nixon coolpix L120. She take tons of pics, and gets paid to do photo shoots. The thing works great, takes great pics, and you do not need extra lenses. I believe it was like 300 at walmart.

I am not familiar with Nikon, but what I would recommend in your price range would be a Cannon T2i or the newer T3i. Both are great beginner cameras that have a lot of features. If you dont want to use the features simply put it in the professional mode ("P") and shoot away. The great part is as you advance you can change and add new lens. They are fairly idiot proof straight out of the box.

I like new camera people as much as new fisher' people ...gives us a place to sell our old stuff to replace with new stuff. Seriously, stop by the shutterbug forum we have a great time over there.

Re: Need help with a camera please (timberland)

There are guys in the shutterbug forum that definitely know their stuff.

I would suggest to find a reputable camera shop and go in their and pose the same questions. Not only will they be able to suggest cameras, you will also be able to play around with them.

How it feels in your hands is just as important as features.

Also please buy from a local shop and not Wally Mart. Most of the time the price difference is not worth dealing with walmart. As an example a local camera shop carries an olympus tg-610 same as walmart. Wallworld 249$ local shop 219.00 and you will get more info from the local shop.
