A friend of mine stated that when the stator or trigger went out on the late 80's early 90's Johnnie/Rudes, that both would have to be replaced. (Not sure of the exact year, but it is one of the 150GT's) At least this is what his mechanic told him as he replaced the stator and trigger.
The stator was the oringinal problem, but the mech replaced both stating that the new stator would fry the old trigger which in turn would cause the new stator to go bad again. (Damn if it don't seem like I'm talking in circles) They both had to be replaced at the same time new or else.
So is this legit or did the mech make a few extra bucks on an uneeded repair? If it is legit, would it also be the same way with a 1996 150HP Faststrike?
