I bought a new truck last year and let the XM lapse.
After awhile I started getting offers to renew XM via phone. I told them I really wasn't interested as I wanted NFL so I wanted Sirius of some sort.
Lo and behold I started getting emails and letters for Sirius Select. The offers say it INCLUDES the NFL network. One offer was 5 months for $25, another was 6 months for $25. Mind you the offers are specific for Sirius Select. http://www.siriusxm.com/subscr...elect
Right before the end of the year I called them to take them up on the offer and it was slick, maybe 5 minutes on the phone and I had to have my pickup on and XM tuned to channel 1 at a certain time for them to fire it back up.
Right away I noticed - no NFL radio.
I call them back and it's no problem, they made a mistake, it should be $38, not $25 for the promo. I remind them I have an email and a letter for $25. The guy says he'll just fix it, no charge. I thank him. I should have thought about the fact he didn't ask me for a time to reset it (have the truck on).
I call back this weekend and spent 40 minutes, YES, 40 minutes on the phone with them. My phone has a minute counter. Suffice it to say they tell me there is no way they will honor their own offer because they gave me XM, not Sirius Select, so if I want Sirius I should pay more. Plus I have a Chevy and Chevy is really an XM product. I'd sound like an azz if I pick on the language barriers we were having to boot so I won't comment on that![]()
After all of this I asked to be switched over to whoever can cancel my Sirius. Another 5 minutes on hold, they spend more time trying to talk me out of it. Finally I get to customer service to cancel, the lady again asks me all my info, what I want, why, etc. I inform her I'm going to cancel. Then she hangs up on me. At no point have I raised my voice, I am a bit incredulous through all of this.
What a strange strange company. Now I still have to call back to cancel.
Word of warning.![]()
